Logan County Fair & Rodeo
The Logan County Fair & Rodeo - July 29 to August 8 - is one of the premier county fairs in Colorado, blending the best in agricultural exhibits, entertainment, great food, fun rides, and the excitement of competition. This highlight of the summer features many events and activities tailored to kids - and kids of all ages!
And if you're here this weekend, don't forget the other fantastic and fun things going on in Sterling.
The final night of July Jamz will be Friday, July 30, starting at 6 pm, featuring a Tribute to John Denver by John Adams Band. This is part of the Logan County Arts League free concert series held every Friday evening in July on the Logan County Courthouse Square in downtown Sterling. Bring your own lawn chair or spread out a blanket and enjoy the fresh-air music, food trucks, beer garden, artists, vendors, and more.
The Overland Trail Museum will be celebrating the grand opening of their Propst Agriculture Center for Kids this Saturday, July 31 and offering FREE admission all day. The official opening and ribbon cutting will take place at 10 am in the museum courtyard. Other activities offered throughout the day until 4 pm will include root beer floats, butter making and gold panning. The Propst Ag Center is an interactive display for young children to learn more about our proud agricultural background in Logan County. The exhibit is designed to be an interactive experience geared towards young children, but we feel sure that the whole family will have a great time milking the milk cow, gathering eggs, roping a steer, pumping water, picking apples and more!
The museum will also be celebrating the 10th birthday of the High Plains Education Center and the 145th Birthday of Colorado with birthday cake, lemonade and Colorado Day activities all day.
