This Weekend in Logan County
The Sterling Fire Department will be hosting a memorial ceremony to honor the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The community is invited to join us as we remember all those we lost. The ceremony will take place on September 11 at the Logan County Courthouse at 7:30 am. In addition, Logan County employees will be placing 2,977 flags on the Courthouse lawn in memory of those killed in the 9/11 attacks to accompany the observance on Saturday. Those who wish to attend the ceremony are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
Art Rocks! Two rock painting events are planned for the weekend:
o Sat., September 11, 3-5 pm, at the VFW Building
o Sun., September 12, 1:30-3:30 pm, at Prairie Park
Get creative and add your painted rock to the growing community collection. Bring your own rock; paint and other supplies are provided by Blick Art Materials.
