Fall is the season for local festivals and the small town of Merino is the place to be this weekend for the Merino Fall Festival. Experience small-town traditions and enjoy rural life like a local.

Activities celebrating "Timeless Traditions" are taking place all day long, Saturday, Oct. 2, beginning at 7 am with a 5K Fun Run and Walk for #FightTheFunk, and featuring craft vendors all day.

This easy Colorado road trip to Merino is the perfect opportunity to chill out and decompress. Enjoy the day and spend the night close by in Sterling to round out your weekend.

Here’s the rest of the schedule for Saturday:

o    8 am – Softball Tournament

o    9 am – Parade, Grand Marshals are Richard and Sandy Schendel

o    9:30 am – Kids Carnival immediately following the parade until 4:30 pm

o    10 am – Cornhole Tournament

o    10:30 am – Queens Court Tournament

o    10:30 am – Kids Bingo Run

o    12:30 pm – Chicken Poop Bingo and Dunk Booth

o    1:30 pm – Tractor / ATV Poker Run

o    4:30 pm – Dinner

o    5 pm – Merino Booster Club Cake Auction

o    6-9 pm – Silent Auction

o    7 pm – Concert featuring Austin Wahlert
