Explore Sterling and Logan County 3-Day Itinerary

Day 1 - Explore some of the historical sites in downtown and residential Sterling, then stop for lunch in the restored Simkins Parlour. Spend the afternoon on a self-guided tour of the Bradford Rhea Tree Sculptures around town. Feast at the Hot Spot Smokehouse and then stop next door at the Parts and Labor Brewing Company for a craft beer made with locally grown wheat. It'll be lights out at the personable and cozy Crest Motel.
Day 2 - Start your day with breakfast with the locals at the J & L Cafe before a morning of golf (links at Riverview Golf Course, Northeastern 18 or F & H Golf or disc golf at Pioneer Park). Grab lunch at Baja Tacos, then explore the past at Overland Trail Museum. Dine at The Grill at River City, catch a movie at Fox 5 Theater and settle in for the night at Best Western Sundowner.
Day 3 - Wake up your senses at Hot Java Espresso. Then head to Merino to view the storefront murals and maybe take a tour at Wisdom Rides Manufacturing (please arrange in advance). Enjoy lunch at the Tipsy Cow before leaving Merino. Spend your afternoon at North Sterling State Park for hiking, fishing or eagle viewing. Return to Sterling for a casual dinner at Hootenannies Pub, then enjoy a nature stroll at the Overland Trail Recreation Area. Retire for the night at Holiday Inn Express as the sun sets.
